Digital Heat founder John Devine frequently suffered from eye conditions that started with seasonal allergies, turning into an irritating stye, and ultimately a chalazion, requiring surgical treatment. All of his eye doctors prescribed the use of a warm compress. The products were either too hot, cold or soggy. The treatment therapies were also too cumbersome and difficult to apply as frequently as prescribed. So, he decided to invent his own precision eyelid heater product.
